What We Do

Supporting the financial health of student life

From semester allocations to grant reviews, the Finance Team works year-round to ensure every student organization has the resources it needs to thrive.

Allocate Funding

Each semester, the Finance Team reviews budget requests from registered student organizations and allocates funding fairly based on need, programming scope, and HUA guidelines.

Review Grants

Organizations may apply for supplemental grant funding throughout the year. Our committee reviews each application, considering impact, feasibility, and alignment with HUA's mission.

Financial Transparency

All budget allocations and expenditures are published publicly. We believe accountability to the student body is fundamental to our work.

Our Process

How funding works

A transparent, structured process from application to decision.

Step 01

Organization Applies

Student organizations submit their funding request through the online application portal.

Step 02

Finance Committee Review

The funding committee reviews the budget request and supporting documentation.

Step 03

Funding Decision

Organizations are notified of their approved funding allocation within two weeks.

Step 04

Disbursements by HFCU

Approved funding decisions are sent to the Harvard Federal Credit Union (HFCU), who handle all disbursements directly to organizations.

Step 05

Receipts Submitted & Excess Returned

Organizations submit receipts documenting their expenditures. Any funds not used must be returned to the HUA Finance Team.

Step 06

Budget Released

All funding decisions are published publicly on the HUA Budget page for transparency.
